Healthy Food Diary #1

Hi Lovelies,

A very different post from me today. As I am sure most of you are aware if you follow me on twitter I have been moaning embracing healthy eating this week. Monday last week while doing my usual aimless surfing of the internet and looking at all these amazing bikini bodies whilst eating a peanut butter kit kat chunky (my favourite) something FINALLY clicked inside my head that I have to work hard to get a body like that. God does not love me enough to bless me with incredible abs while stuffing my face!

Que my new obsession of surfing the internet for healthy and delicious recipes (any excuse really to spend ages on pinterest.) I decided to try and cut out wheat as much as I can, I already have an intolerance for it but as I am a rebel (nawt I just love bread) I carried on eating it which results in me feeling bloated, having bad stomach ache and bad skin. I also have made a determined effort to cut out dairy as I know this also affects your skin but I do allow myself a glass of chocolate milk, which I make myself as a sweet treat after dinner. So I thought I would share with you what I have been eating for dinner this week as I find these the hardest meals to keep healthy as inspiration/help if you too are on a health kick. Note Friday is missing as it was a repeat of Monday!


Monday- Steamed chicken breast & vegetables with houmous.
Tuesday- Brown rice, with steamed vegetables and chilli prawns
Wednesday- Stuffed avocado with salmon, cucumber and zest of lemon. Rocket salad and beetroot on the side.

Thursday- Brown rice, steamed vegetables and garlic prawns. Side salad, with more beetroot my favourite! 
Snacks- Besides fruit I noticed in the afternoon I have been slumping and needing something sweet so I bought these gluten and wheat free bars, which aren't too bad. I recommend the cocoa orange not so much the cashew cookie.
Breakfast- I have mainly been having porridge in the morning but I also had banana and peanut butter, yummy :).

As well as eating healthy I am going swimming 4 days a week, making sure I do 50 lengths and really pushing myself so my heart race is increased. So far after a week I feel a lot healthier, I have a lot more energy, am less bloated and fitted in my slim day jeans. Ladies, tell me I am not the only one who has these?!   6. Wow, you put me to shame! I'm lucky if I have a healthy dinner, let alone healthy snacks and breakfasts etc! I'm too much of a chocoholic xxx
