Outfit of the weekend: Clashing Prints

Ooo look at that moody stare haha I was trying to be all mysterious when in reality I was freezing cold, with a red nose and a puffy face so unable to smile. I was a crazy lady on Saturday taking these photos in the bitter cold as I wanted to show off my pretty dress, no pain no gain right? I bought this dress way back over Christmas which seems forever ago now, wore it once put it in the wardrobe and it was forgotten. Shame on me right! So when rummaging through my wardrobe, I instantly fell back in love and decided to wear it this week, I love tartan so much there is something about it which always draws me in. You can't see in the photo as my hair is covering it but this dress has a faux leather collar as well which would look really nice if I ever put my hair up. Also the belt comes with this dress, and I absolutely love this belt I have worn it with so many different outfits I wish they would sell it separately in different colours! The scarf was an accident, it was so cold I chucked it on and was reluctant to take it but personally I think the leopard and tartan prints don't look to horrendous together and I vowed to myself I would wear 'clashing' prints some more.

How is your Wednesday? Pay day tomorrow for me finally woop woop! What do you think about clashing prints a do or a don't?

Outfit of the weekend: The Necklace

Hi Lovelies,

It's that time again Sunday evening, the dread of the weekend being over and the panic of realising I have nothing clean to wear to work tomorrow *sigh*. Nothing much to report today really I stuck to my usual routine of going to China Town for dim sum yum yum, I did take pictures but they weren't good enough as I was fighting of some fast moving chop sticks!

Following on from my post the other day about needing to wear my clothes more I found this little number in my wardrobe. I have been lusting after this dress in topshop, then looking through old blog posts (i'm so sad) I realised I owned this one which is very similar. This dress was a total bargain at £3! I found it in the sale last summer and is a snip of the topshop ones which I know are very popular.

Obviously I chose to wear my current favourite necklace, it makes me feel fashionable okay! Haha. I really like this outfit simple but still put together and comfortable :) What have you been up to this weekend?

Thank you for your organisational tips my favourite is to write down everything I own on the inside of my door which I will be doing this week! What are your thoughts on neon for this season?

Rome 2013 Part 2

Hey Dolls,

This is part 2 of my trip I tried to keep pictures as low as possible there is nothing worst than when someone bombards you with their holiday snaps. This seems an age ago now, I want to go back already to all you lucky people who commented on my last post and are going soon I am so envious! Now I hope you are sitting down when you watch this video as shock horror the boy actually makes an appearance! I'm surprised he has even let me keep him in the video but it is youtube official now so there is no going back :). I do speak to him like a baby at one point which I do apologise for all I can say is we had wine that night haha!

My Lipgloss be Poppin' my Lipgloss be Cool

This has to be the most cringe title I have ever written but come on hands up who remembers this song?! I remember listening to this on my old ipod classic by the lockers putting on my NYC gloss with the girls before class, oh yeah I was cool. But back to the gloss in question I can't believe I am typing these words but I think I have fallen head over heels for a nude yes you read that right NUDE gloss. For me this is so big I feel it should be a friggin' holiday but no one else in 'RL' seems to understand how exciting this so I turn to you guys to share my excitement ( please don't burst my bubble.)

This purchase was the ultimate impulse buy. Picture the scene I'm mooching around Brighton picking up last minute essentials for my night out (fake tan & eyelashes) I packed in a hurry, I'm hungover from the night before, then disaster strikes I have a red dress but I have packed a red, orange, baby pink and bright pink lipstick but none of these will go with with my dress. Marching straight to Mac I stared at the lipsticks in my hungover daze feeling very confused and unsure. I already own creme cup and just don't get on with it at all, maybe nude lipsticks just aren't for me besides Nars cruising as a base colour. The nicest SA works in the Brighton store she is really helpful and friendly she over heard me moaning about what to wear and handed me Boy Bait. The applicator is really nice, it isn't sticky and lasts around 3 hours. This looks so pretty by itself which is how I am wearing it in the above photo, its a gorgeous milky pink/nude basically my lips but better and sun kissed slightly. I'll let the photo do the talking better basically it is so pretty! I also layered this over my beloved mac lovelorn and it also looked good. I seem to be drawn to lipglosses at the moment for years I didn't bothered as I hated the dreaded hair on lip situation but I think I have sort of mastered it and you will see me regularly rocking a glossed lip.

Any of you got this lipgloss? What are your thoughts? Let me know your favourite nude lip products i'm dipping my toe into this pool now.

Neon Chanel in China Town

Hi Lovelies,

I can not even explain how happy I am that the weekend is finally here, I have been suffering with a cold all week, (i'm blaming the partying I'm just not a party girl) it got so bad I seriously thought I had man flu! If you have followed me since the beginning you will know my love for China Town, last year I used to go every Sunday for dim sum, but this year I had only been once which is shocking. Obviously I had to change this so headed out for dim sum yesterday and to see all the pretty decorations for chinese new year. I also wanted to wear my new dripping chanel t shirt which arrived on Monday and I love it! I bought it on ebay from this seller, as it was so cheap I didn't have high expectations I thought it would be one of those t shirts that is so thin you can read the paper through it, but it is actually really good quality. I knew straight away I wanted to team it with my much loved neon necklace, which seems to have come back into fashion again (score) and I love the look. I know I will wear this t shirt a lot I have lots of outfit ideas for it.

On another note after having a heart attack when looking at my bank balance, it was so bad I thought I might have to live on a diet of baked beans for the rest of the month but even they seem to have got a bit pricey these days, I have decided to go on a spending ban. Now I'm being realistic here there is no way I can not buy anything A) I have no will power and B) Topshop needs me. However I have decided to stop making impulse purchases, wear what I have in my wardrobe more and walk away from items then in a couple of days if I am still thinking about it then purchase. With me most of the time I am obsessed with something I will need it straight away, wear it once then forget about it, if I keep thinking about something then I know I must really want it. So have you got any tips for me? Maybe a post on how to re vamp old clothes, or away to organise my wardrobe to see what I have?

Rome 2013 Part 1

Hi Lovelies,

Another busy weekend for me, February has been none stop I can't wait for the weekend so I can do absolutely nothing! I have only just got round to looking and uploading my trip photos onto my laptop so I thought I would share some of them I didn't want to over do it and bore you all but Rome really is beautiful. While I was away I also tried my hand at vlogging and have uploaded my first video onto my channel which you can subscribe to here if you are fancy it :). Part 2 will be up soon which has less of my chatting and more of actual Rome, I am really pleased with these videos probably the best editing wise yet! Looking at these photos has made me a bit sad, it was all over so quickly and I really wish I was still there! Anyone got any exciting trips coming up? I feel I need to organise something else now so I have something to look forward too and get out of these holiday blues!

Also I want to say a massive thank you to all you lovely readers, just before the weekend I reached 100 GFC followers which is so exciting for me and was a nice end to my holiday so thank you very much, the last photo is exactly what I did when I reached 100 GFC followers haha. God I wish I was cooler.

Past & Present London

What a busy week I have had! The beginning of 2013 has really got off to a good start, I feel so optimistic about this year seeing new places and achieving a lot. Yesterday I went up the Shard for Jack's 21st birthday, I think I may have been a little more excited than him and it wasn't even my birthday haha! The view is incredible these are a couple of my photos but I don't want to ruin it for people, I found it amazing seeing how the Thames curves round London, and isn't London so incredible that I can stand in a modern building, the Shard, but see old historic London such as the Tower of London. One of the many reasons why I love this city! I was able to spot my old house as well on the South bank, which I miss so much & it may seem lame but I am always a bit sad when I go back to that area. Saying that we did go for a walk that way, which is where I took my outfit photo as it has this gorgeous street which has these cute little terrace houses and I always feel like I am stepping back in time when I walk down it.

This jumper is so out there for me! I was in a good mood on Monday and it caught my eye straight away, I did hesitate a bit but then thought 'no Ellie you must wear more colour' as I wear way too much black! I really like it, I want a lighter pair of jeans to team with it as for some reason it makes me think of the 60s, maybe I can practice a beehive as well? Where is the best place for jeans besides topshop leigh jeans? This jumper has to be the most unpractical thing to wear at the top of the Shard though as it has holes in it so I was frozen! This jumper has made me feel really excited about spring, the days are lighter and feeling longer and the sun is out so  I say roll on spring!

Do you have any plans of going up the Shard? What do you think of the colour green? Something you wear often?
