South Kensington Gypsy

A quick OOTD from the weekend, where I went to the Science Museum ( call me Super Ellie Scientist now) then headed off for dinner with the boyfriend. It was a lovely warm day on Sunday but I could not resist wearing my new jumper, I mean who can resist not wearing something new? It actually was the perfect in-between piece and I love the frill at the bottom. There is something about Khaki pants which always make me think of Cheryl Cole, I think every woman wants to be Cheryl a little bit! Obviously I wore my converse whilst round the museum as I am not crazy but I changed shoes for dinner and I really love the leopard against the khaki and the autumnal tones! I also dragged out (literally) this vintage Louis Vuitton bag from my closet much to the dismay of the BF due to him having no where to put his keys, wallet, phone etc anyone else have to tote their other halves stuff around?! I always tell him the more I have to do the more he should buy me a lovely bag to carry both our stuff in ;) This Balenciaga maybe?

I am so pleased Autumn is here are you? Also the gypsy from the title is because of my necklace which I have finally got round to wearing its pretty coins all together and my bf told me it reminded him of a gypsy necklace!

Blue Autumn

I know what you're thinking Autumn Blue?! Hardly the first colour that springs to mind when the season of Autumn is mentioned but hear me out....

Hopefully you can see from the above photos just how gorgeous this nail varnish is and how much it does scream Autumn! Can we just take a moment to imagine this nail polish wrapped around a pumpkin spice latte or against chunky grey knit wear *sigh* I really do love Autumn I am so glad it is finally here!
I just had to share this colour it really is a gorgeous blue/purple shade which is extremely wearable and not in your face which I find some blue's are. The formula is genius, a 7 day mani? Yes please thank you sir I'm sold, that is me sorted for the working week! If you are quick Superdrug currently have this type of polish as buy one get one half price, which obviously I could not resist.
What do you think of this the polish called Surreal? Is it something that you would let grace your nails this Autumn?

Seasons Change

Besides pointing out the obvious the title is in fact a reference to Jagged Edge's song Seasons Change which I currently have on repeat at the moment!

Shock horror an outfit post from me, I had a week off from work which was total bliss so I started feeling more creative again. Please bare with me though as I'm sure the first few outfit posts are going to look slightly awkward, I mean look how much I love the stone pebble wall!

This dress is a recent purchase of mine from Warehouse, as soon as I saw it on their instagram page I just had to have it I love the colour, pattern and how easy it is to dress with boots and a leather jacket to toughen it up. I would say that it is very short, I'm 5ft 2 (granted with a large peach) but I feel a slight gust of wind from a tube and my dignity will be gone haha!

What do you think of this dress? How would you style? Think it would look good with over the knee boots? I'm currently lusting over a pair but not sure where to buy some, the search is on...

All Maydoll'd up for work

Remember me? I wouldn't be surprised if you don't! I thought I would show you an OOTD of what I wear for work. I work in the city so the dress code is corporate/smart and I realised I actually wear things like this more than I do all my 'weekend' clothes which I show the most on my blog. I also thought it might be good for any of you lot who are taking their first leap into the working world after Uni and need a little inspiration, as lets be honest I think we would all rather be in our jeans and t shirts than a retraining dress! Big tip to any of you starting work do not and I repeat DO NOT wear a tight dress if you have a lunch booked in, the train journey home can be pretty hideous and uncomfortable!

I got this dress recently from Oasis, who do lovely work clothes FYI, and it was a total bargain, £60 down to £40 on the tag then when I got to the checkout it was a mere £30!! It is also one of the very few items of clothing in my working wardrobe ( well wardrobe in general) which isn't black, or a navy and white pattern. My shoes are from Karen Millen another bargain.

While we are on the subject of working I thought I would also mention a favourite lunch joint of mine, Tortilla. This place has been a favourite hang out of mine for many years so when I got offered a free coupon for the place I snapped up the chance, let it be know I also have 9 burrito loyalty stamps on my card as well! There are a few scattered around London, and recently I noticed they have expanded into Brighton ( thank you gods) but there is one very conveniently on my office doorstep in the city and they do hands down the best Burrito's ever!! They are perfect on a cold day, but be warned fellow city workers if you are hungry get there early otherwise you will be queuing into Leadenhall Market with the wafts of Tortilla tormenting your rumbly tummy!

This is the I'm so hungry so quickly take a picture face! :P The decor inside is pretty cool as well, anyone needed an invented way to reuse their empty bottles?!
If you do head along to the Leadenhall Market one I am sure you will see me there doing my utter most to eat my Burrito in a lady like manner!

Any of you got any favourite stores for work clothes? I do find it a struggle to find smart but pretty dresses for work!

OOTD- Jolie Paris

An outfit post from me all the way from Paris, the city that has now stolen a piece of my heart! I have been back a couple of weeks now and my head is still currently in the Paris day dream clouds.

I bought this peplum jacket from Topshop especially for my trip I felt it screamed Parisian Chic and all though it was really warm in Paris ( look at that clear blue sky!) me being my stubborn self still wore it. It is such a lovely material and so flattering I feel like it instantly smartens up any plain outfit and has this magic power which sucks you in. As you can see I did cheat in the end and put my shorts on also excuse my hideously wild and very ginger looking locks, humidity is NOT your friend!

Does anyone else own this jacket? I'm tempted to buy it in the grey as well for Autumn time! Anyone fancy running away to Paris with me for an adventure?! Haha.

An Adventure In Paris

If you follow me on twitter or instagram you may know that I recently spent a long weekend in Paris. While in Parwee ( say with a terrible french accent) I was bitten by the blogging bug again so with my camera in hand I attempted to be a cool blogger and document my trip. The key word in that sentence is TRY so que the first awkward outfit pictures in a long time under the Eiffel Tower, cliche I know!

I'm sure it is a sin to wear a faux chanel anything in Paris but what can I say I rarely think that far ahead. Anyhoo after a few typical touristy pictures by the Eiffel Tower, which I highly recommend doing early in the morning (10am here) to avoid the horrendous fool doing the duck pout selfie and photo bombing all your photos. Can you tell this happened to me and I may still be a bit bitter? haha. So after that off we went up the Eiffel Tower and after countless stairs ( that one gym class a week really helped) we made it to take in the breath taking views.
Wow wee so pretty!
After an hour Oooing and Aaahing at the top we made our way down and carried on our adventure at the Louvre. Que awkward teacup pose, you can tell I am a rusty blogger!

Sadly we didn't get a chance to go into the museum as the que was gigantic and we had little time as it was to fit in everything. This will be top of my list to do on my next trip to Parwee ( remember say it in a terrible French Accent.) Next stop on our whistle top adventure was the lovers lock bridge which was in fact a lot prettier than I thought it would be and I'm glad we went to see it as the next day apparently part of it collapsed! I hope the lock bridge breaking doesn't bring bad luck to any of those lovers. I took a real liking to this lamppost in particular.
We took a well earnt rest after all that walking and order this amazing passionfruit sorbet nom nom I could have eaten it twice over. I was feeling slightly reckless.... who am I kidding it was happy hour I couldn't say no and ordered a Mojito. On a serious note ladies I work in insurance so I am pretty used to going for drinks at lunch etc but good god this Mojito was so strong once finished I was feeling very 'boozed' and as such when I got back to our hotel I went for a nap. Not very classy but I promise it was just the one Mojito!! haha.

Have you been to Paris recently? Is there anything I really should have gone to see? Part 2 of this day will be back up soon, I got a new wind of life after that nap!

Day Dreaming in Holland Park

A few snaps outside my new home in Holland Park.... haha I blooming wish! On Sunday I decided to take a stroll through Holland Park my ultimate favourite place to day dream in the whole of London. The houses are absolutely beautiful, each street is perfect not an over grown bush in sight ( didn't sound so bad in my head haha.) It might sound odd to some but whenever I feel a bit lost in life or uninspired I like to walk round Holland Park to remind myself to keep working hard, the things you truly want don't come easily it is my way of knuckling down. Now I don't live in the clouds too much me owning a £10 million property is very unlikely ( I do buy a lottery ticket just incase) but I do hope to one day own something equally as pretty.

For the walk I only thought it was appropriate to wear the most Chelsea-esq item I own being my Topshop fedora and I will let you into a secret my Kenzo inspired jumper is from the mens section in Zara!! Sometimes it pays being dragged around the mens section! I added a bit of glam with my birthday shoes from last year which I utterly adore but my god are they uncomfortable it is as if the strap has teeth, they tear your feet to pieces. They look pretty though right? I'd sacrifice a toe or two for them haha!

How do you keep yourself inspired? Where is your favourite place in London?

Hoppin' into Spring

Yep the title is correct on Saturday I hopped and bounded into the arms of spring like it was a long lost friend. Off went my coat ( maybe a little premature), on went the sunglasses and off to sunny London I went.

Now this scarf is the marmite item of my wardrobe, it got mixed reviews from my work colleagues when I bought it spur of the moment one lunch time but for me it was love at first sight. Coming from a girl who rarely wears anything but black I have thrown myself in the deep end with neons here, I never do do things by halves! The print made me instantly think of Louis Vuitton's leopard style scarves and I thought it is an easy way to jazz up sometimes boring all black outfits. I always find it funny how a certain item of clothing can just give you a vision, as soon as I saw this scarf I thought of being in Rome on a spring day with the sun out but a cold breeze, Rayban aviators on, a nude lip and parka coat. Too much of a daydreamer? Most probably!

Did you get to enjoy the sunshine? What are your honest thoughts on this scarf? Something you would wear or too bright?
