Insta Outfit #2 - Suede skirts are sent from the Gods

As always I have got a sudden splurge of motivation to blog again, the biggest question now is how long I will stick to it! Having recently got back from a week stay in Sorrento I was inspired by the beauty everywhere I looked, and thought I would document what I saw etc and start sharing my day to day life.

This was an outfit I wore just before heading away, I was rushing around getting last minute holiday bits and I can hand on heart say I have no idea how I lived without a suede skirt before in my life, they are sent from the Gods!! It goes with absolutely everything, the buttons make you look put together and the suede fools everyone into thinking you generally planned what you wore 5 minutes before you rushed out the door.

I urge everyone to purchase one! Heck I am already eyeing up another suede skirt in a different colour, and this little beauty was a total bargain at £17.99 ( ok so really it is suede-ette but thats our secret!) I can't wait to style this more through out Autumn, it is going to look so nice with black tights and long boots.

Have you got a suede skirt? If you find me remotely interesting I would love it if you came and said hi on instagram!

My Beach Bag Essentials

IMG_2956 IMG_2945
As I have previously mentioned I am an over packer when it comes to going on holiday. One thing I was determined to stream line this year was my beach bag, nothing worse than having to lug a suitcase size bag down to the beach with everything from knitwear to an umbrella in tow. These are my essentials, hopefully it may help some of you guys pack a bit lighter and not have a mangled back by the end of your holiday!

1. Reading material!! You have hours to past and what's better than feeling the sun on your skin and being immersed in a good book. I have my kindle and a magazine just incase I'm still a bit sleepy and just want pretty pictures to look at.

2.  Yes I know this is a sun visor something I sure you are likely to see your grandmother in but this one has a bow and I convinced myself that it makes it cool haha. Really its more practical for me as I always have my hair up in a bun so I can have my pineapple poking up while keeping my face and shoulders protected.

3. If I do ever venture into the sea and a miracle/accident happens and my face and hair go under ( I have an irrational fear of the sea) then a tangle teezer and this Charles Worthington sunshine protector  spray is essential. Bye bye knots and salty locks and hello L'oreal worthy hair..... well not quite but it is a vast improvement on my Hagrid like hair!

4. Sun protection! Now I am older I'm far more aware of how important it is to protect your skin from the sun and slather up escpecially on your face. I have sensitive skin so sunscream on my face is a no go and I come up with red like boils. I know I know boiled skin and Hagrid hair what a catch! haha. I could not recommend this Dermalogica SPF 30 Super sensitive shield enough, it is amazing and worth every penny.

5. These little Dermalogica pouches actually came free with my sunscream and a moisturiser I bought and they are perfect for storing my phone, headphones and some cash in they also can be attached to the inside of your bag or on yourself!

What are your beach bag essentials? Do you ever bring make up to the beach? I actually wear nothing on holiday in the day and I am sure my eyelashes have grown from the sunshine! Is that possible?

Javea 15- Night 2

What would a holiday be without a bit of sparkle? I got this skirt for my birthday back in May with the soul idea that it would be perfect for a night out or holiday, as the latter happened first here it is! I also saw that this went into the River Island sale if anyone else fancies a bit of sparkle in their life!

The tan is a slight glow at the moment but I am determined that I will come back from this holiday with a decent tan so another beach day is a head. I swear doing nothing is so tiring my current day is tan, eat, tan, sleep, eat haha!!

Also how amazing is this bracelet/ring chain I know I am late to the bandwagon but when I saw this H&M one it screamed grecian to me so I had to have it. Would any of you wear this skirt in the day with a baggy grey tee? I'm tempted but not sure if it is too ott!

Javea 15- Night 1

Aloha from Spain! After 3 years without a holiday it feels like utter bliss to finally feel the sun on my skin! It also meant that I needed too ( well more wanted too) buy new pieces as my summer wardrobe was extremely lacking, but this also means that I did not pack lightly and have more shoes than days that I am away, eek! Anyway as I have some time away I thought I would share my holiday outfits to either give others inspiration for their up coming holiday and to semi justify my serious spending these past couple of months haha!

This skirt was a total bargain and extremely versatile however I do think I might need a safety pin at the top as you could lose your dignity very quickly with a slight gust of wind. A Marilyn Monroe moment this skirt is not! Also how amazing is this bangle?! Not something I would normally go for but it was in the Topshop sale for £4 and had my favourite animal on so really it was screaming out my name!

Any of you going away this year? Please tell me you over pack for a holiday as well? I never know why I suddenly panic pack, I can pack lightly for a city break but the thought of over a week away from I literally pack everything but the kitchen sink, I mean I bought a jumper on this holiday and its been 33C so far haha!

Am I having Deja Vu?

No you are not having Deja Vu it is more a case of a bad blogger who does not have enough content to pad out the fact that this outfit is pretty much the same as the outfit in the post before. As the old saying goes why fix something that isn't broke, who's with me? Seriously though there is a lot of pressure to constantly come up with a brand new outfit for every single day of the year when frankly that is ridiculous and not cost effective. I am not a celeb therefore I need to wear my £60 pair of shoes more than once as I work hard for my money and they have slotted into my material heart nicely! This is also something I do a lot when I go on city breaks I try to plan outfits which can be worn with jeans or a skirt (weather dependent) with layers making them perfect for any occasion.

If I ever had the time to do a cost per wear chart this jacket would pay for itself 1000 times over. Don't you love pieces like that in your wardrobe?. I fell in love with it back in February and hoped I would be able to style it but did worry slightly that it might just catch dust in my cupboard but my goodness everyone needs a pastel pink jacket! If like me your main clothing pallet is grey, white and black than a pale pink is the perfect feminine touch and perfect for all occasions.

Do any of you ever feel pressure to wear something new each day? What do you think about bloggers wearing similar outfits with slight tweaks?

Insta Outfit #1

Topshop snake skin pumps Ellie Maydoll Insta outfit pink jacket

Can a pair of pumps get anymore perfect?! A birthday treat from my boyfriend and they are me all over, I know I will get so much wear out of them! A very good dupe for the Aquazzura pumps that everyone has been converting after but a fraction of the price, and I must say they might not look it but these are soo comfortable! First wear, no socks and no blisters, that is a winner in my book! Teamed with my trusty pink leather jacket this is my go to look for the awful supposed summer we are having.

Anyone else got a pair of Aquazzura look a like pumps this season?

Checkin' In

IMG_9362 IMG_9369 IMG_9424 May doll rayban sunglasses IMG_9387

Long time no speak! As always I have left it too long but life really has been a complete world wind and as always blogging is the first thing which is neglected.

Where to start? I am now 23! I turned 23 on the 23rd May and you know what I am okay with it, another year older just means another year wiser and closer to a Chanel bag right?! I have also finally got a new job, and for the first time in a very long time I feel really excited about my career and my future, my enthusiasm light has well and truly been switched on and I can't wait to get stuck in and of course buy new clothes for my new opportunity!

All though 23 may just be a number I feel really content with my life and in myself. It is very true when people tell you the older you become the more comfortable you become in your skin and you learn to accept yourself for who you are, flaws and all. Obviously I wouldn't mind losing a few pounds ( 4 would be great in the next 4 weeks before my holiday) but I won't stop enjoying my life and stressing about it like I once would. I have also come to realise that my dress sense isn't the most fashionable and up to date trendy as I do not have the model-esq height and body for crop tops galore and crochet shorts but that is what is so great about the internet and fashion, someone out there may dress like me also and hopefully can gain some small inspiration? Failing that maybe there is one other out there who loves this bumble bee pom pom eye catching bag like I do, but I appreciate it is a marmite piece haha!

I have recently stopped buying pieces just because I think it will look cool on my blog and I have embraced the bulging wardrobe of clothes I already have or I have bought versatile pieces you will likely see a lot in the upcoming posts, such as this suede-ette tassel jacket. It is soo soft and has been hugging my back dearly these past 4 weeks.

Speech over load but if for no one else least I can look back in years to come and see where I once was and what I was thinking. :)

Military Crochet

I don't know about yourselves but when I am unsure of a current trend I like to just dip my little toe into the pool of the trend to see if it suits me, which is exactly what I did with the crochet trend! I absolutely love the crochet maxi dresses which float around Tumblr but I know I do not have the figure or golden tan to pull one off!

Lord knows what I did with these jeans I got a bit snap happy and ended up with a hole on my thigh, but for this outfit I feel it kind of works. Simple and casual way to style crochet, what do you think of the crochet trend? Dipping your toe into it this summer? If you fancy it this top is great and a total bargain!

Madrid Outfits

Cookie monster

Cookie Doughnut Monster?! Everything really is different when you go away!

I am back with a very heavy heart from 4 glorious days in Madrid, the weather was wonderful, the company was out of this world and I did not stop smiling & laughing for the whole trip. For this trip as I could only take hand luggage I left my DSLR at home and got snap happy with my iPhone and it was really nice not feeling anchored down by a camera around my neck. So here are a few iPhone photos of outfits I wore while in Madrid and as I only had hand luggage I had to pack versatile pieces.  I always think the key to city breaks is to bring comfortable shoes so gone were my glitzy flats and in came my converse which I totally forgot how comfortable they were! If you would like a separate Madrid post let me know as I did not stop snapping!

Sorry the quality isn't up to my usual standard but thought it made a different post. How gorgeous are these Zara heels, they were love at first sight when I saw them in the UK but when in Madrid they were a lot cheaper so I really had no excuse not to buy them!

Have any of you been to Madrid? What did you think?

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine 13 - Pink in Paris

IMG_1406 IMG_8860

How gorgeous is the YSL packaging? Swoon! I went through my lipstick collection a couple of weeks ago and noticed that most of my everyday pink lipsticks I had actually run out of so with my John Lewis voucher in hand I bobbed on down to the YSL account as for some reason I just had it in my mind I wanted another and fancied a bit of luxury.

This is the second lipstick I tried on and it was love at first swipe, then I found out the name afterwards and knew it was meant to be! This is a gorgeous rose pink colour which doesn't have a lot of red in it nor blue so would suit quite a lot of people. I would personally wear this to work as it makes me feel really put together and it is not to in your face. I absolutely love the formula of the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine it is the in-between of a lipstick and balm, smells amazing and doesn't cling to all your cracks and I find very durable on my lips. Only thing I will say it is a lipstick you need to apply with a mirror in toe due to it being so balmy I find it does easily slide off your lips so you defo need to touch up the corners.

I think this lipstick range could be my new obsession and I am already itching to add a couple more. Have you ever tried them? What is your favourite YSL lips?

Outfit of the Weekend: Glitzy Leopard

Please tell me I am not the only one who actually dreads buying new shoes? Don't get me wrong I can appreciate a pretty shoe but I absolutely hate the process of getting them comfortable, sometimes it feels like I have the worlds most sensitive feet! Saying that when I saw these shoes pop up on the Dune instagram page my feet went numb which let me know they would be prepared to go through the pain for these beauties. I mean can they be anymore me, leopard print, pointed and glitzy! After all the nervousness they are very comfortable so now I am tempted to get them in all colours and get these heel version as they are very Manolo-esq, which is my dream shoe of all time!

Also any other short girls out there like me who struggle finding jeans I highly recommend these Zara CROPPED, yes cropped ( oh to be 5ft 11) jeans which are the most perfect length for my fun size legs. They do what most other jeans struggle to do and actually hug my ankles so I don't need to roll them up.

What do you think of the shoes? Bit too much for your style? I love them to pieces but can't work out if they are classy or a bit garish.. eek!

Valentines Power Lip

ellie maydoll good kisser
When I am at a loss of what to wear I feel like a strong power lip is always my saving grace ( along with an all black outfit.) I recently rediscovered Mac's Good Kisser in my collection and if you are like me and forget what you have this post might be a gentle reminder to get it out!

I remember I bought this when Cheryl Cole made her big comeback to the X factor and I was completely besotted with her glam big hair and fuchsia pink lip.  This one is a mid toned fuchsia with a blue cool base, and a matte finish. The colour pay off is incredible but you really need to exfoliate your lips before hand, and its staying power is amazing 4-5 hours while eating/stuffing my face, so perfect if you have a valentines meal planned or will be sipping those cocktails with the girls! I also team it with Mac's More to Love lip liner of an evening just to increase it's staying power and make the edges sharper and really pop, and it is a perfect match!

Sadly this one was limited edition but I know that Impassioned is pretty similar and a real favourite of Cheryl's is Girl about town. Will you be rocking a bold lip this Valentines? Anyone else own Good Kisser?
